Golf Holidays in Chamonix

When choosing your annual golf break, Spain, Portugal or the US are the obvious choices. There is an alternative though, and it's much closer to home. People have been playing golf in Alpine resorts since the early part of the 20th century. If British gentry of the early 1900's frequented a particular place for their holidays, eventually someone would build a golf course there to cater to their needs.

The Alps offer a far more comfortable climate than Spain or Portugal, stunning views and if it takes your fancy, a nightlife that matches the quality of the golf.

Golf has a rich history in the Alps. The oldest Alpine course is St. Moritz. It dates back to 1891 and was the idea of a couple of local hotel owners keen to provide a course for their British tourists frequenting the Alps in the summer. The Chamonix course was created for the same reasons.
