Sion is one of our favourite winter courses. When our own Chamonix course is snow-bound in the winter, we make the 1 hour drive to Sion to get our golf fix. The roman town of Sion is at an elevation of 500 metres above sea level so is remains in fairly good condition pretty much all year - only closed occasionally in winter if there's a heavy frost or abnormally low snowfall.

Sion is an ancient Roman town lying in the Swiss part of the Rhone Valley. This part of Switzerland is reknown (amongst the Swiss anyway) for producing some exceptional wines and often after 18 holes we drop by one of the local producers for a spot of wine tasting . The picturesque course is surrounded by vineyards and overlooked by the ruins of Roman castles.
