Getting to Chamonix has never been easier. With the opening of the A39 from Dijon to Bourg en Bresse, driving time can be as little as 8 hours from Calais to Chamonix if you take motorways and limit your stops.
If you don't want to blitz the drive in 1 day then take your time and take an overnight stop. There are very cheap hotel chains such as Formule 1 where you can get a room for as little as £15 per night.Flying to Geneva

There are now several budget airlines flying from the UK to geneva, making Chamonix more accesible and long weekends financially viable. Geneva airport is only 1 hour from Chamonix and a return airport transfer is included in the price of your holiday
If you have a late flight out on you way back home, you may want to take advantage of on of the many magnificent golf courses within 20 miuntes of Geneva such as Bossey, Esery, maison Blanche and Divonne.
